What is a grouping?
A grouping is a collection of groups within a course. Using groupings allows you to direct tasks at one or more groups in your course, so that they can work together or individually on specific tasks.
In order to create a grouping (s), a group(s) should already exist in the course. Go to “Creating Groups” to learn how to add groups to a course.
Adding Groups to Groupings
In the course where you would like to create a group, click on the “Administration” block on the right hand side of the page. Then click on “Users” and “Groups.”
Click on the “Groupings” Tab, then “Create grouping” button to add groups.
Next, enter grouping name, then “Save changes.”
Once you have created a name for your grouping, click on the “People icon ” under the edit column in order to add groups to your grouping.
The next screen will show all the groups within the course on the right hand side of the screen, and any existing groups in this grouping are on the left side of the screen. Groups can be removed by selecting them and clicking the “Remove” button. When the group members have been added, select the “Back to groups” button at the bottom of the screen.
To add groups to a grouping, select the group on the right side, and click the “Add” button. Select the “Back to groupings” button at the bottom of the screen to save your grouping.
Next, you will need to add your grouping to your activity. Go to Vstar Help and search “Adding Groupings to an Activity” to learn how to attach groups to an activity.
