Step 4

The “Export to Excel Spreadsheet” page will give you several options.  These options are explained using the diagram below.

A. Include feedback in export – if any of your grade items include feedback, check this item to export both feedback and grades.  If this is checked, two columns will be exported for each grade item.  One column will include the grade, the other will include text feedback, or a column where you can add text feedback if it has not yet been added within the graded assignments.

B. Grade export display type – Three options are available, real, percentage, and letter.  The “real” grade is the actual grade number a student received on any given assignment, for example, 10/10 or 100/100.  The percentage is a percent the student received on any given assignment, such as 70% or 99%.  The letter grade reports on whether a student received a P or P*, but is currently not configured in our system.

C. You can select to include or not include certain assignments or quizzes in your export.  Be aware that items you include or exclude are being included or excluded for the entire report.

Step 5

Select submit.  The next page will give you a brief preview, but will not show the entire course.  Click “Download” to view the entire report. Note: The “ID number”, “Institution”, and “Department” columns will not appear in you gradebook.
