Creating Secure Review Sessions

This is just one review option.  For other review options, see the “review options” section of quiz setup.

Creating a secure review session requires several steps.  Generally a Course Coordinator or Ed Tech Admin is available to assist with secure review sessions.

Secure review sessions may be necessary if students need to review quiz scores and feedback, but should not be able to “walk away” with that information.  This may be if faculty are reusing exam questions from year to year.

The steps for creating a secure review session are below.  Be aware that many of these steps link to other documentation.

  1. Close the quiz.
  2. Allow deferred feedback while quiz is open.
  3. Create a group in the course.
  4. Create a group override for quiz.  Extend close time of the quiz for the group so that the quiz is open during review.
  5. As students check in, they should be added to the group.  This is the only way they can review quiz information.
  6. Monitor the review session.  A proctor should be available and in the room to make sure students are not copying information to another location.
  7. Students need to check out before they leave, so that they can be removed from the group.  Students need to shut down their laptops so that no trace of the quiz remains.
