Accessing and Staying up to Date with the Literature
Many students wish to stay informed about new research and best practices published in the literature. Two great resources beyond the Eskind Library are Read by QxMD and Docphin.
Read by QxMD (available for iPhone/iPad here) is an app that acts both as a suggestion engine and a reader. After providing it with a list of areas of interest, the app will make suggestions for you about newly published articles that are relevant and may be of interest to you. The built-in reading functionality will download PDFs of the actual articles for you without needing to go through any of the Eskind Library sites.
Docphin is a similar service to Read by QxMD, however it is both a website and email service, in addition to an app. It is available for users of Windows, Mac, iPhone/iPad or Android. There is a unique social component to this service, where suggestions are made for you based on your interests as well as the popularity of articles being read on the Docphin network. It also hooks in to the Eskind Library resources to enable quick access to the articles’ full text.
