Email Access for Mac

The most common mail client to use on OS X is Apple Mail. It easily synchronizes with all your other iOS devices through iCloud.

Let’s begin…

  1. Open the Mail application
  2. If this is the first time setting up Mail, just click ‘Continue’ through all of the popups.
  3. Once in the main window of Mail, navigate to ‘File’ in the top menu, then click ‘Add account…’.
  4. In the window that appears, enter your name as you’d like it to appear on emails you send. Enter your Vanderbilt email address and password in the appropriate boxes. Click ‘Create’.
  5. The account addition will fail and a new ‘Username’ text box will appear. Enter your VUNetID into this box (it should be auto populated with your.m.name). Click ‘Continue’.
  6. In the next window, check whether you would like to synchronize your calendars and contacts from the Exchange server, and click ‘Create’. You’re done!
