VSTAR Compass is getting a face lift and will have new features including “just in time feedback” for faculty, a list of “Today’s Events,” and the ability for students to check-in and rate those events.

The Compass App is now available for iOS and Android. Although the app is not available in the app store, it can be downloaded at https://vstar.mc.vanderbilt.edu/compass.

Provide Feedback (Students/Learners)

The student/learner view of Compass will get a cosmetic change. All features that are currently available will exist in the new app.  Learners will still be able to request feedback or type feedback from an evaluator, both internal and external to Vanderbilt.

Provide Feedback (Faculty)

New! A new faculty interface is available in the new Compass app, allowing faculty to perform “just in time” assessments of their learners based on previously created Portfolio assessments.  Faculty will first search for a learner they would like to assess, and then select an assessment form. A list of completed assessments can be found on the landing screen.

Today’s Events / Check-in and Rate

New! Students and Faculty can now view course events for the current day as they appear in VSTAR Learn. Students can click on an event to see more details and check-in to the event and/or rate it.
