VSTAR Portfolio 3.17.0 Release Notes

Released: November 7, 2016

1. Faculty/Staff Added to Course Collection on Creation. Course Directors and Course Coordinators listed in PeopleSoft are automatically added to Course Collection as “Monitors” when the collection is created.

2. Learner Groups Created on Course Collection Creation. When creating a Course Collection, Groups are automatically created with the same name as the Course Collection for easy identification. If the Course Collection is created through the Activity Admin area, the resulting group is attached to the Activity.

The Group Membership consists of students who are actively enrolled in the parent course when the Course Collection was created. The student list is updated from PeopleSoft daily and continues until the first Activity (chronologically) in the Course Collection begins.

3. Cloning Groups. Portfolio Admins can now clone groups. This can be found in the Admin Panel under Groups.

4. Include Additional (Official) Student Information from PeopleSoft. Students’ First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, and Suffix (as listed in PeopleSoft) are now listed separately in Portfolio as well as their Program, Classification, and Graduation Year. This information can be found in a student’s Profile. The Student’s separated Name and Cohort are now part of Reports generated through the Reports feature.

5. New Snippet for VSTAR Grades Comments. A new “Graded Text Field” snippet was added to the list of options when creating a form. Text (comments) from this field is sent to VSTAR Grades for grading. This joins comment fields marked as “only advisor can edit” in the push from Portfolio to VSTAR Grades.

6. Bug Fix + Enhancement: Replaced ability to Detach Groups in Activity Admin Area. The ability to detach groups was replaced in this version. As an enhancement, the ability to detach all groups was added.

7. Enhancement: Contextual Help for Groups. Contextual Help was added in the Member Tab of the Activity Admin area to guide users in detaching groups.

8. Bug Fix: “No Results” Displays Incorrect Message in Reports Area. When performing a search in the Reports area, users would get no indication if their search had 0 results. A message now displays correctly when a search returns no results.

9. Bug Fix: Special Characters Break Activity Reports Formatting. Users who copy/paste information from Word into a form or include some special characters, caused incorrect formatting to appear when Activity Admins downloaded reports. Formatting has been corrected.
